6 Gorgeous Wine Bars in Austin

03.08.17

I love February – May in Austin. It’s the best time of the year! The weather hasn’t gotten too hot yet, so the evenings are the perfect time to sit outside on a pretty patio and sip some wine. I’m rounding up 6 of the most gorgeous wine bars to visit in Austin while the weather is so nice!

These are all places that I personally love and visit frequently…maybe too frequently. 😉  Enjoy!

June’s All Day

This new cafe on SoCo is not just great for sipping wine or cocktails, but also brunch, lunch, and dinner! Every time I walking up and down South Congress and see someone enjoying a glass of bubbly on their sidewalk patio, I think, you lucky dog! It’s a gorgeous interior as well with lots of natural light and pretty marble countertops.

Winebelly

Tucked right in the middle of south Austin at S. 1st and Oltorf, Winebelly is one of my favorite Austin wine bars because of their pretty patio! With twinkly lights and lots of tables for gathering with friends, Winebelly is the epitome of an Austin bar experience to me. Their wine list is extensive, especially if you’re willing to buy an entire bottle to share with friends instead of ordering wine by the glass.

Vino Vino

This Hyde Park favorite focuses more on Old World, small-production vineyards. Thrillist named it one of the top 21 wine bars in the U.S., and Austinites love it, too!  (You’ll be in aw at the lovely selection of wine bottles around the room!)

Red Room Lounge

While this one doesn’t have a fun and bright patio like some of the the places I’ve mentioned, Red Room Lounge is unique because it’s a dark and intimate wine lounge in downtown Austin. Several blocks away from the craziness of 6th Street, this place is the perfect nook to escape the noise of the city and enjoy a selection from their extensive wine list…seriously, they have a great one! And whenever I’ve been, the sommeliers have been so helpful in explaining their wine to me, which is an important part of visiting a wine bar, if you ask me!

Olive and June

source

This restaurant has a large, beautiful deck built under a massive shady tree.  I think it’s one of the prettiest places to relax in Austin! Go for happy hour for 1/2 off cocktails, beer, and shared plates until 6:30 pm M-F.

The Infinite Monkey Theorem

source

Aaaah, yes. And I’m saving one of my favorites for last! This quirky, industrial wine bar doesn’t only serve wine, they make it on site, too! Almost all of their wine is made from Texas grapes (their original location in Denver uses Colorado grapes), and they present it in a fun, non-pretentious way. (Hello, wine in a can!). The outdoor patio is fun in the warm months, and often you’ll find a food truck parked outside!

  1. I can’t believe I’ve never heard of most of these! I have only been to Infinite Monkey Theorem and Winebelly. I love wine. Now I’ll have to go try those out. Have you ever been to House Wine? It’s a very casual wine bar in an old house (right off of Barton Springs and S Lamar).
